Expert Group in design, construction and operations of the Ice Arenas
authorized by the Russian Ice Hockey Federation
 
 
Vladimir Cherkasov - Managing Expert 
 
Владимир Черкасов        Vladimir Cherkasov was the Head of the Ice Hockey Complex (consisted with three arenas: Bolshoy Ice Dome, Shayba Arena and the ice hockey training venue) in the Organizing Committee “Sochi2014”. He was responsible for the preparation of the Olympic ice hockey venues and tournaments, along with the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship holding. His main task was the realization of the high standard requirements of the International Ice Hockey Federation and the Russian Ice Hockey Federation on the venues at all stages: from the “P” stage documentation preparation until the venue commissioning, testing the venues by holding the official  pre-olympic Test Events up to the the Olympics. 

         He is the single specialist in Russian Federation with unique knowledge in design, construction and operational planning of the ice arenas whose expertise is officially recognized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).

     For the successful preparation and holding of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Games Vladimir Cherkasov is submitted to the State Award of the Russian Federation.

           Since 2015 - Official Expert in Ice Hockey, nominated by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in ice hockey. Official participant of the IIHF and IOC joint program the transfer of knowledge to the Local Organizing Committees of the Winter Olympic Games.


Oleg Kravchenko - Managing Expert
 Олег Кравченко
        Oleg Kravchenko is one of the main Experts in Russia in designing and constructing the Ice Arenas, having the unique experience in and knowledge of the engineering systems, influencing the quality of ice and the conditions of the events.

        Oleg has 20 years of experience in design and construction of the ice rinks and refrigeration systems, the list of venues he is the part of includes but not limited with: 

  • MEGASPORT Hockey Palace
  • Arena MYTISCHI
  • Arena BALASHIKHA
  • UFA Arena
  • OMSK Arena
  • VITYAZ Ice Palace
  • Bolshoy Ice Dome and more then 100 other ice arenas all over Russia    

       During the XXII Olympic Games in Sochi Oleg was responsible for the facilities maintenance and technical operations of the Ice Hockey Complex. Highest technical readiness of all engineering systems and facilities, provided smooth operation during the Games, and was marked by IIHF Technical Delegates and representatives of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). 

Experts  

Uliana Barbysheva -  Expert in Venue Operations Management. 

Yuri Suloev - one of the main HVAC Experts in Russia, his specialty is  designing and constructing the HVAC systems of Ice Arenas. Has 30 years of experience in this area.

Galina Goncharova -  Expert in innovative technologies of ice production and protection in different sports. Since 2003 heads special projects with Ministry For Sport of the Russian Federation in research of the sliding physics in hockey, figure skating, speed skating, short track and luge, bobsleigh and skeleton.

Sergey Russakov - Expert in design, installation, adjustment of the engineering systems of the ice rinks. During the Games he was the chief engineer of the Ice Hockey Complex.

Dmitry Brukhanov - Expert in event services, crowd management spectators’s flows control. In the organizing committee of Sochi 2014 he was the director of the Event Services Department.
